At last I've got the opportunity to upgrade my equipment. I've been using the Nikon D40 for a year now, and have proven for myself that photography is really fun! The D40 has been an amazing camera (and still is) but I have come to a point where it starts to show its limitations. Afterall it IS a beginners camera, an excellent one!
So what should I go for? I knew one thing, that it had to be Nikon since I've got so familiar with it. And because many of my friends got Nikon I shouldn't be a retard and go for something else... I ended up with the D90,18-105 kit.
What a great camera! It is perfect for my use. For a long time I tought about getting the D300, but have no regrets for my choice. Especially now when the D300s has entered the scene. After reading tons of articles about both D90 and D300, I felt that the main differences between the two is this:
D90 - Excellent for hobby photograpers
D300 - Excellent for proffessional photographers (which I'm not...)
Does a new camera make me, or anyone else, a better photographer? Probably not, it is the same eye and mind that has to find the motive, regardless of what equipment we have. Now I just have to worry about the limitations in my fantasy.
Shots with the new D90
